Rare Anton Weiss Painting

 Weiss, who is Austrian, arrived in America he was in  a Russian concentration camp. His brother and grandfather died  conscription in Hitler’s army, Weiss’ felt devastated . 

As a boy Wiss lived at his family's winery in Yugoslavia. Yugoslavia was invaded by the Nazis in World War II.  His parents were both painters. 

At the age of 13 Weiss and his mother escaped the Nazis camp after being there for three years. A Catholic charity helped bring them to the United States.Weiss attended Watkins Institute, the forerunner of Watkins College of Art and Design. 

In 1956, Weiss began moved to New York City. In 1960, Weiss triumphantly returned to Nashville.
